Class Description

Join us as we learn DJ’s innovative techniques for altering photographs with washes and texture, then merging them with various fragments and scraps into unique works of art. Although she’ll teach a simple book structure to house the techniques, you’re free to create whatever you choose. This workshop has a very loose project format, allowing you the option of making one of the sample projects, or to simply ‘play’’ with the techniques and make pieces for a future art project. She’ll bring several samples of different types of books, quilties, collages, etc., and will show you how each was created, in order to provide you with a jumping-off point to spark your creativity!

You’re also invited to an optional gathering on Sun. afternoon at a nearby park in Los Gatos--we'll bring our sack lunches, and then wander through the park and take photos that may then be used in the workshop—or not! There’s no fee and it’s not mandatory for class, so don’t worry if you can’t make it. We’re just offering it as a fun and informative supplement to the class, and a great way to get acquainted before we dive into the workshops!
