An eco-friendly retreat and conference center
“The presence of…Spirit seems closer when one is in the natural beauty of Presentation Center…on the breath of the breeze, in the dappling of the sunshine, within the stillness of the mountains”
The Presentation Center is a unique retreat situated on 67 acres among the redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains of Los Gatos, CA. Only 30 minutes from Silicon Valley and the coastline, and just an hour from San Francisco, it’s the perfect setting for a creative retreat. The closest airport is San Jose International, only a 30-minute drive to the Center. Details and directions will be available upon registration.
Onsite attendees will occupy the historic Pueblo Building, as well as a few cottages sprinkled throughout the Center. The Pueblo Building consists of simple but comfortable single and double occupancy rooms with newly-renovated dorm style bathrooms; plenty of showers and commodes, so no worries! Limited sleeping rooms are also available in cottages sprinkled throughout the retreat—each one is unique, sleeping from 4 – 12 persons, with shared bathrooms and some with small kitchen areas. The accommodations are rustic and quirky, each with their own special charm. The Center provides bed linens and towels for attendees, and there are fans in each room for the summer months, and radiant heat in the winter. They provide a calm, caring atmosphere for all their guests, and treat everyone like family!
There’s a Patio Courtyard, a lounge, coffee room and more. The evening activities will all be held in the Assembly room, also located in the Pueblo Building—it’s really quite charming! Most of the classrooms are also located in this building.
Whether you’re assigned to the Pueblo or a cottage, the prices are the same for single and double rooms. Most of the sleeping spaces are in the Pueblo Building, but you may request a cottage on the registration form. Just be aware that no guarantees can be made, and rooms are subject to change at any time. I’ll do my very best though to see that you’re happy!
All meals are included, beginning with dinner on the day we arrive, and ending with breakfast on the day of departure. Delicious, nutritious fare is served buffet style in their new straw bale/solar-powered dining hall, along with a choice of beverages. The Coffee Room in the Pueblo Building is also open day and night, offering coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Three classrooms are located in the Pueblo Building, the 4th is right outside that building, and the 5th is located off the Dining Hall, just up the walk from the Pueblo Building. Workshop enrollments are limited in size to provide you with individualized instruction, with a maximum of 20 students. Imagine bringing just one set of supplies and leaving them in class for the entire 3 days—no changing rooms and schlepping things back and forth! The rooms will remain open for you to work late into the night or first thing in the morning—whenever your creative muse strikes!
Throughout the Presentation Center property, you will find numerous nooks and knolls inviting you to pause and contemplate, gather with friends, do some reading or journaling, or just relax.
