Storybook Dolls
with Judy Wise
Join me for three days of creative fun as we weave a spell of charming dolls and their personal stories written in matching storybooks. First we will make sculptured dolls out of Sculpey clay, and then for each doll we will make a matching book to contain the doll’s personal story.
I will gently guide you through the creative process as we shape and bake the body parts and paint the dolls. There will be several styles of dolls to choose from, or you are welcome to investigate in your own direction. There will be lots of sharing, demonstrations and suggestions as I share with you my modeling and painting approach, along with a variety of dolls for inspiration.
Then we will make simple books out of watercolor paper, paint and ephemera, and write out the stories of each doll. You will take home at least one finished doll and storybook, as well as many new skills using Sculpey clay, book making and journaling techniques. Each student will also receive an instruction booklet.
